Mother's Day with Grandma

In early May we had the honor of welcoming Grandma Linda, G'Dog, for a visit to our paradise here.  Luckily she arrived with the weather still brilliant.  Soon after her arrival we took her round the Mount for a Mother's Day amble.

Behind us is Leisure Island and a pretty calm surf day.

Noah and Maggie in a finer moment.

Finer moment turned amiss.

"Mommy, trust me, this shell is not that sharp!" as she pokes the pointed end into my leg.

"Mags, ouch!  That IS sharp!"

"And I love you!"

Looking out towards North Rock.

A frieghter making its way out of the port, Matakana Island in the background, looking north up the coast.

Came upon someone and his beach art as we came through the channel.

Pilot Bay on a calm day.

Pilot Bay and looking back towards the port and town.

Later on Mother's Day, took Linda and Maggie for tea at cafe in McClaren Falls park.  It was one of the last days the falls were running until next summer.

After tea and a drive through the park, Maggie encouraged us to take a visit to Marshall's Farm where she had been once before to commune with the Emus and Guinea pigs.   Here she is with the scary emus!

And here with her favorites!  "Mommy, can't I get one…or two or three??"
