Computer is fixed so now I can share some more shots of adventuring here:
In Rotorua we found tulips blooming along with many other spring flowers. The entire town smells of sulpher due to hot pools and geothermal activity.
Gotta say things around here do feel a bit more simple than at home, one of the niceities of being here.
Hot water, lemon, honey, ginger=new favorite drink. May have even weaned myself of tea! Sara D, their versoin of Dragon's breath and oh so good!

Happy Noah with his pretty Mocha at Fat Dog Cafe |

Noah and Maggie on gondola as we access the famous luge run |
|
Noah beaming after first luge run, "Mom, you have to admit that was pretty awesome!" and it was! so cruise so fast on this little plastic cars on concrete roads with not much safety gear, see helmet, and easy to get up on one wheel coming around corners and such. It would never happen in the States this way! |

View of luge itself |

And the tracks, downhills were steep and exhilarating!! |

finally we get the new rig, 1993 toyota Hiace diesel van!! we love it, kids call it the ghetto van, but its a good people and crap mover! Fits 8 all tog and seats come out or fold down or whatever one needs. It is japanese, entire manual in Japanese (Lars, can you lend a hand here?) and in the center console there is soup/hot water warmer for our convenience! Ramen here we come. |

That all for now. Today is Sat, gorgeous sunny day! Off to park for picnic with Maggie, boys are off for a "hang out" with friends ( I was corrected when I suggested they would be playing with this new friend !) and later we will venture north to yet another beautiful beach, Waihi Beach, to see what vistas there are to be seen. Missing home, just a little!
