A brief Mary Oliver send off

In the past week I have received two of her poems, and they are meant to be shared in this space.  I will carry them with me inside and out!

It doesn't have to be the blue iris,
it could be weeds in the vacant lot,
or a few small stones;
just pay attention,
then patch a few words together and don't try to make them elaborate,
this isn't a contest but the doorway into thanks,
and a silence in which
another voice may speak.

3 things to remember

As long as you're dancing, you can break the rules.
Sometimes breaking the rules is extending the rules.
Sometimes there are no rules.
